Hien was the only Japanese military fighter aircraft equipped with a liquid-cooled engine during the Pacific War. It was officially adopted as a Type 3 fighter in 1943, and its armament was strengthened several times in order to compete with highly bulletproof US military aircraft. Among them, the I-type, which was equipped with two 20mm cannons in the fuselage and two 12.7mm cannons in the wings, was manufactured from January 1944 to January 1945, with approximately 1,360 machines being manufactured, the largest number in the series. Taking advantage of its excellent high-altitude performance and heavy armament, it played an active role in intercepting B-29s in mainland air defense battles.

This is a plastic model assembly kit of the Hien I-type Ding. ★1/72 scale, total length 125mm, total width 167mm. ★Faithfully modeled with an easy-to-assemble parts structure, including a sleek fuselage and flexible main wings. ★The complex configuration of the rectifier plate in the air intake under the fuselage is reproduced as an integrated part. ★The interior of the cockpit and leg storage have plenty of three-dimensional feel. ★Includes 3 types of markings including 244th Squadron Commander Kobayashi's aircraft.\
