The Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle is the Ground Self-Defense Force's wheeled armored vehicle, which began procurement in 2016 and is being deployed across the country. It has a maximum speed of approximately 100km/h thanks to its 8 large-diameter tires, and is equipped with a domestically produced 105mm gun with excellent accuracy. It is increasing its presence as the cornerstone of a rapid response mobile regiment that can quickly respond in the event of an emergency. Additionally, the Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle underwent various modifications during mass production based on the opinions of personnel who actually operated it. Among them, the vehicle manufactured with the budget for fiscal year 2020, which is the fifth year since the start of procurement, is called C5. A major feature is the air conditioning unit at the rear of the turret, which has been installed since the previous generation C4. Additionally, for the first time, the C5 was equipped with a towing winch to quickly recover incapacitated vehicles.

This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle C5.
