The JV44, an elite jet fighter squadron of the Luftwaffe, was formed in February 1945 at the end of World War II. Its main force An air defense unit equipped with Focke-Wulf Fw190D-9 was formed by gathering selected pilots with the mission of providing air support for the Messerschmitt Me262 during takeoff and landing.
