The Sukhoi SU-27, known by its NATO reporting name as the Flankier, stands as a formidable Soviet twin-engine heavy interceptor meticulously designed for achieving air supremacy. Taking its maiden flight in May 1977, the SU-27 was crafted in response to the introduction of the F-15 Eagle into the United States Air Force's service.
